Homemade Salsa

Have you ever gotten close to finishing up dinner only to find you’re missing one key ingredient? That’s exactly how this recipe came to life. I was making tacos one night, went to my fridge and went through my pantry and just to realize I had no salsa.

Now we had been living in El Paso for a while at this point. I had already made marinara sauce on a whim, so I looked in my pantry once more and figured out while I didn’t have a jar of salsa, I DID have all of the ingredients to make some myself.

I haven’t bought salsa since.

What You’ll Need:

1 Can Petite Diced Tomatoes

1/2 C Chopped Onion

1/4 C Green Chiles (I use jarred)

1 1/2 Tsp Minced Garlic

2 Tsp Dried Cilantro (1 Tbsp if using fresh(

Juice from 1/2 of a lime

1/4 Tsp Salt

1/4 Tsp Ground Black Pepper

How To Prepare:

Put all ingredients into a small blender or food processor (I use a Magic Bullet). Blend until the onion is blended, but there are still some small chunks of onion and tomato. Serve immediately, or store overnight for better flavor.
